The Association of Hungarian PhD and DLA Candidates is glad to announce it’s brand new initiative, the DOSZ Ambassador System. Since 1994 DOSZ is the national association to represent all PhD candidates (without any citizenship distinction) who are currently following PhD course in Hungary. The aim of the Ambassador System is to set up an international environment for young scientists in Hungary, and to internationalise PhD education within the country by crossing boundaries, we would like to facilitate international scientific connections, involving foreign PhD candidates currently doing their researches in one of the Hungarian Higher Education Institutions. We believe that only an internationally active PhD community can be competitive and sustainable.
We are looking for you if you:
are a foreign PhD student or young researcher in Hungary
have good communication and organisational skills
are open minded
would be able to represent young researchers of your country of origin in Hungary
have initiatives how Hungarian scientific life could be more inclusive and internationally open
would like to be part of a developing community as the Association of Hungarian PhD and DLA Candidates
would like to contribute in building scientific bridges between Hungary and your country of origin
would like to be the representative of your country in DOSZ International Committee
Having experience in student advocacy is an advantage.
What DOSZ can offer?
DOSZ officially nominates all DOSZ Ambassadors on the XXIII. Spring Wind Conference, where we announce the establishment of the Ambassador System. DOSZ Ambassadors -with their nomination- are automatically going to be the members of DOSZ International Committee, Being the Ambassador of your country’s young scientists would lead you to advocate doctoral students’ interest of your nation, to organise scientific events, to maintain connection with your country’s Embassy accredited to Hungary. DOSZ is also committed to help PhD candidates to deal with the challenges of Hungarian labour market, and strengthen international fellows’ connection with Hungarian authorities and scientific institutions.
What kind of events are we planning?
On a monthly basis DOSZ is committed to organise a cultural-scientific event dedicated to one country each month. During this event with DOSZ’s financial contribution, all gradual and PhD students of that country could meet and prepare traditional meals and presentation about their country’s cultural, historical, economical and scientific aspects. PhD candidates of the chosen country can also present their researches during the event. For this special occasion we would like to have some disputes in round table discussion to talk about all the issues which affect the chosen country’s citizens’ life in Hungary involving the Embassy accredited to Hungary of the country. Furthermore DOSZ would like to involve international PhD Candidates in a more inclusive way to its events, such as Spring Wind Conference in May, DOSZFEST in August and Milestone Conference in October.
If you feel the passion for joining our community and for being an active representative of your country’s young scientists, send us your professional CV, and the application form to iroda@dosz.hu until the 15th of March, 2020.
